Died of a rare form of cancer

MATTHEWS-Gary R. January 3, 2008 of Lackawanna, NY; beloved husband of Christine Scherer (nee Rokitka); dearest father of Jessica (David) Olsen, Derrick, Stephanie and Michael Scheelar; adored by step-children Jennifer Scheelar and Sandra and Jeanette Scherer; loving grandfather of Kaylee Autumn Olsen; son of the late Raymond and Michiko Rose Matthews; loving son-in-law of Edward and Lorraine Rokitka; beloved brother-in-law of Mary Jane (Anthony) Poleto, Daniel (Donna) Rokitka and Ronald Rokitka; also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and a host of wonderful friends who have been supportive of our family. Chapel service from THE COLONIAL MEMORIAL CHAPELS, INC., 3003 South Park Ave., Lackawanna, NY, Monday morning at 10:00. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Gary's name. Visitation Sunday only 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
